Associated Producers’ acclaimed documentary series “The Naked Archaeologist” wins Special Jury Prize at the 8th Annual Archaeological Film Festival in Brussels

TORONTO (November 23, 2009) – Toronto based film production company Associated Producers has won the Special Jury Prize from The International Archaeological Film Festival in Brussels for the documentary series The Naked Archaeologist.

The Special Jury Prize award was handed out at a gala ceremony at the Musées royaux d’Art et d’Histoire de Bruxelles.

Hosted by three-time Emmy Award winner and two-time Gemini Award winner Simcha Jacobovici, The Naked Archaeologist is an irreverent, entertaining and eye-opening journey into the fascinating archaeology of the ancient world. Along the way, new discoveries are made, lost treasures revealed, and ancient mysteries uncovered.

Shot on location in Israel, Jordan and Italy, The Naked Archaeologist airs Friday nights on VisionTV, at 10:30PM Eastern/7:30PM Pacific. And on Wednesday nights on History International, at 9PM Eastern/10PM Pacific.

Says Jacobovici “Ours is a pop approach to Biblical archaeology. At the same time, however, we never compromise on the content and, I think, we are often ahead of the headlines. So, it’s great to get validation from the archaeological community. This means a lot to me”.

The Naked Archaeologist is series produced by Leslie Fruman, and executive produced by Simcha Jacobovici and Alberta Nokes. Episode Director: Markham Cook.
