On August 9, 2001 a young man walked into a busy, downtown Jerusalem pizzeria with a guitar slung on his back. The guitar was packed with explosives, nails and bolts. He blew himself up killing 15 people and injuring over 100. The victims were Jews and Arabs, young and old. Impact of Terror revisits this suicide bombing two years later. Through personal stories, we witness how this horrifying event has had a lasting and profound impact on the lives of people connected to the bombing.
Impact of Terror is a film about Israeli victims of suicide bombings. This is not a film about politics. It’s about the targeting of civilians. It’s about fate. It’s about the ripple effects that start at the epicenter of the bombing with the dead and the wounded, and devastate the victims’ families and friends, as well as Israeli society at large. It’s about a world where buying a pizza is a life and death decision.
